Guide to Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

As an extra layer of protection for online banking and our 手机应用程序, we may require two-factor authentication (2FA) for some logins. This means that, in addition to your 用户ID and password, you may be asked for a code when you log in. You can choose to receive that code via phone call, a 2FA preferred authenticator app (DUO Authenticator, Authy, or Google Authenticator) or by text (SMS). Never share your code with anyone — Patelco will never call or text to ask for it. You will only be asked for a 2FA code while using online banking 或者我们的 手机应用程序, never by a person.

For maximum protection, you can also set 2FA to be "always on" so you'll be asked for a code via text (SMS), a 2FA authenticator app or phone call every time you log in to Patelco Online^™ 或者我们的 手机应用程序. It takes only a few extra seconds but will protect your account from automated attacks and fraudsters.

How to turn on 2FA via a preferred authenticator app

另外, you can also select a preferred authenticator app, such as DUO Authenticator, Authy, or Google Authenticator. These apps add another layer of security to help protect your account.

2. Select your name in the upper right
3. Select 设置

Whether you use online banking 或者是 手机应用程序 to set 2FA to "always on," it will remain turned on for all future logins, both mobile and desktop. (You can go back and turn it off later if you want.)

Create nicknames for your accounts

Personalizing your account names in online banking makes it easier to manage your money. 与昵称, you can stay on top of your spending and saving better, and clearly identify the purpose of each account.

例如, if you have two savings accounts with Patelco and one is for your children’s college tuition, you may want to rename that account "大学 Fund." This will help you quickly locate the account in the future and encourage you to save as part of your own personal budget.

Here's how to nickname your accounts in online banking:

1. 登录到 Patelco Online^™ using a desktop computer
2. From the main menu, select 账户 (徘徊)
3. Then from the drop-down menu, tap or click on 账户 (the third one)
4. Towards the righthand side of the page at the top, you'll see the name of the account with a small pencil icon next to it
5. Tap or click on the pencil icon
6. Type the new name f或者是 account in the 昵称 field (name it whatever you'd like with a maximum of 25 characters)
7. If you want, you can also change the color that's displayed next to the account
8. 选择 保存 button

The next time you view your account online, the nickname will appear.

Go a little greener with electronic statements, which you can access conveniently from your online account. They also provide added protection against mail theft. We’ll email you monthly to let you know your statement is ready to view.

Getting started with e语句

1. 登录到 Patelco Online^™ 或者是 手机应用程序

3. Select 去无纸化 and follow the prompts to set your preferences

To view statements online, log in to Patelco Online^™ 或者是 手机应用程序悬停在 账户 in the main menu, and 然后选择 语句 & 文档. (You don’t need to be signed up for e语句 to view your statements online.) You can view up to 5 years of statement history. If you need a statement older than 5 years, send us a secure message using the Message Center，发现于 工具 & 设置 in the main menu.

Using Overdraft Protection

Say goodbye to fees and overdrawn accounts with Overdraft Protection.

Here’s how it works: we'll transfer money from your chosen backup account(s) to your checking account if there isn't enough money to cover a check, debit card purchase, or electronic transaction. It's a great way to avoid overdrawn accounts, overdraft charges and late fees. You can designate up to eight backup accounts and add or remove them easily.

Using Anywhere Deposit

Anywhere Deposit lets you to deposit checks directly into your account using Patelco Online^™ 或者是 手机应用程序.

To use Anywhere Deposit, you must:

• Meet credit requirements
• Have our 手机应用程序 on your iPhone or Android device, or be logged in to online banking
• Be registered for Patelco Online^™

To use Anywhere Deposit, select the check deposit icon inside our 手机应用程序. Alternately, log in to online banking via a desktop computer, and hover over 转移 & 支付 in the main menu. Then tap or click on Anywhere Deposit.
